LIGHTNING BUS FAQ:

Why should I take the Lightning Bus?

Lots of reasons! Let someone else do the driving while you sit back, relax, and get excited for what’s to come! Make lots of new friends and reduce your carbon footprint.

I plan on flying to the event, what is the best airport for me to go to and catch the bus?

Los Angeles is the closest airport to the event and your shortest bus ride. The bus will depart offsite near LAX.

Is there an age limit to ride the Lightning Bus?

All campers must be 18+ unless accommpanied by their legal guardian.

How much camping gear can I bring on the bus with me?

Please don’t bring more than you can carry! The venue is large, and although the bus will drop you off in a central location, you will still have to do some walking. We ask that you bring no more than two small items (i.e. bags and backpacks) on the bus and put larger items (i.e. tents and coolers) in the undercarriage of the bus.

How early do I need to arrive to get on the bus?

The bus will leave promptly at the posted departure time, so please arrive between 30 minutes and 1 hour before. This allows you enough time to get checked in, get your gear loaded on the bus, and make friends with your fellow riders!

What happens if I miss my flight because the bus is late?

It is advised to plan for a healthy buffer of time between when the bus is slated to arrive and when your flight takes off. While the bus is expected to run on schedule, traffic can be unpredictable so it’s best to give yourself plenty of time to get off the bus and through the airport! We are not responsible for missed flights.

I was late to the bus and it left without me! Can I get a refund?

Refunds will not be issued if you miss the bus, so plan ahead and get there early!

Do you sell one way tickets?

Yes, all tickets are sold one way. Last minute purchases of return buses are subject to availability.

Can I bring alcohol on the bus?

You may bring sealed alcohol to enjoy in the campgrounds, but open containers are not allowed on the bus. Don't get car-sick, save your partying for the festival!

Does the bus make any supply or bathroom stops?

There should be a working bathroom on the charter bus so no special bathroom stops will be made. The bus will not stop for food or supplies, so please come prepared.

What should I keep in my personal bag at my seat?

Bring a full water bottle, snacks for the trip, your festival wristband, and a good attitude!

Where does the bus drop me off at the venue?

After going through the Box Office, the Camp Bus will drop riders off at a central location near the campgrounds.

Are your buses ADA friendly?

They can be! Please contact support@thedolab.com to ensure your specific bus is right for you.

What do we do with our personal camp trash before leaving the festival?

Lightning Bus riders will have the ability to leave their sorted trash bags at a trash station nearby the bus stop. Please reduce waste before coming by opening new items in advance. Please bring your own trash bags: one for waste, one for recycling, and one for compost!
